About our products
Materials:
All our jewellery is handmade in recycled 925 silver, 9k gold and 18k gold with nickel-free alloys.
The stones we work with are ethically sourced.
The difference between 9ct and 18ct gold is in the percentage of gold that each alloy contains.
Gold is very soft on its own, so you always have to mix it with other metals such as silver and copper.
To get 18ct gold, you mix 75% gold + 25% silver and copper.
This alloy is one of the most traditional, it has a saturated golden color and a deeper yellow tone.
It does not oxidize but could darken or stain with the contact with chemicals (chlorine for example) or skin oils, this can be easily cleaned.
On the other hand, to obtain 9ct gold, 37.5% gold + 62.5% silver and copper are mixed.
In the UK it is widely used in jewellery.
It has a more affordable price but with a gold color that will not fade with use as it happens with gold vermeil or gold-plated jewellery.
9ct gold colour is lighter and less vibrant, it has a very special tone.
With use it could darken or generate a type of oxidation due to having a lower percentage of gold, but when cleaning the piece, its golden color will always remain.
Care:
- We recommend that you keep each of your jewels in separate bags, so that they do not scratch each other.
- Avoid using them when bathing, both in the shower and in swimming pools or in the sea to maintain their shine. Chlorine and salt can darken them.
- Do not expose them to the use of creams or perfumes.
- Try to take them off if you do any sport activity, as sweat could hide the shine.
